A Quick Introduction on How to Buy Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies

So you’ve decided you want to buy Bitcoin or some other cryptocurrency. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how you look at it, there are literally hundreds of ways of obtaining Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Some friends have been asking me more and more about Bitcoin and crypto, and after that SNL performance by Elon Musk, I thought it would be a good time to write this. What I want to do is provide a simple way to start, help you avoid a few common pitfalls, and provide a note about security.

Where to Start

tl:dr — Coinbase. Download the app and start buying.

With the advent of apps like Coinbase and Robinhood, we’ve come a long way from sketchy websites and exchanges when attempting to buy crypto. If you’re just starting out, I would recommend Coinbase.
